3,000-Mile Oil Change Stickers
Companies that perform oil changes on vehicles often place a sticker on the windshield directing the consumer to return in 3,000 miles for another oil change. The Marshall Law Firm is conducting an investigation into the practice of recommending oil changes at more frequent intervals than the auto manufacturer recommends. For example, a vehicle manufacturer might recommend changing the engine oil every 7,000 miles, but an oil service shop or dealer might have placed a sticker on the windshield telling the consumer that his or her next oil change is due in 3,000 miles.
If you purchased an oil change and the servicer placed a sticker on your vehicle that indicated you should return for another oil change sooner than the manufacturer’s recommendation, please contact the Marshall Law Firm at 925-575-7105 or submit your complaint online.
